BUY HERE AVAILABLE IN U.S.

After installing three Albatron PCI graphics cards (PCI8600GT), I have found out the best way to get it installed. The first install took over 3 hours to finally get Windows to use the card.  On the second install took just 2 hours to finally get Windows to use the card.  Then "Three Times a charm", I found the best way to install the card, which only took 20 minutes.

These installation instructions are not included with the installation instructions from Albatron.

  1. Power off the system and remove the power plug.
  2. Install the card to an empty PCI slot with plenty of room for the card/fan to get air.
  3. Keep your monitor cable connected to original monitor connector (on-board or AGP)
  4. Reconnect power cable and power up system
  5. Check BIOS settings for video controller.  Set to AUTO or OEM recommended video setting for video graphics cards.
  6. Restart to windows
  7. After the reboot you should see NEW HARDWARE FOUND Dialog box.
  8. Click NEXT
  9. Verify that it is detecting the Nvidia Geforce 8X00 card
  10. Click CANCEL
  11. Goto Nvidia download site and download the most recent driver for the GeForce 8 series. Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers
  12. Save the file to your system in C:/Downloads (create it if you do not have it)
  13. After the download is complete, Run the installation file
  14. Once installation is complete, shutdown system (START - SHUTDOWN - Select SHUTDOWN)
  15. If you are replacing an AGP card, remove that card from system (unless you are planning on using the multiple monitor feature).
  16. Remove video cable from AGP or On-board (unless using multiple monitor feature), and connect to the Albatron PCI card.
  17. Start up system and enter BIOS.
  18. Recheck BIOS setting to AUTO.
  19. Restart system
  20. Windows should be using the new card.
