Apple DOS started out after Steve Wozinak spent an enormous amount of time to figure out how to build and talk to a floppy disk drive.

Apple DOS came in two versions DOS 3.2 (13 sector) and DOS 3.3 (16 sector). DOS 3.3 was the one that was used most by Apple and by software makers.
